I Adniram Allen of Clay County Kentucky being weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make my last will and testament in manner from following viz-
1st I desire that 450 acres of my land in Owsley County Kentucky joining the lands of William Anderson and John Abner, and so many of my cattle as will pay my just debts be immediately sold after my decease, on a credit of twelve months and out of the moneys arising therefore all my just debts be paid-
2nd After the payment of my debts and funeral expenses, I will and bequeathe to my wife, Nancy Allen, all of the home place while she remains single during her natural life, and at her death I give the same to my daughters- Nancy Allen, and my son, Jason W. Allen- including the grist mill to be enjoyed by them forever. I also will and bequeath to my wife, Nancy Allen all of my house hold and kitchen furniture and farming utensils and so many of the milk cattle as will be sufficient for the support of the family as also fifteen of my best hogs and grain enough to support the family one year. Also two of my mares- Kit and Kate and Kates colt.
3rd I give to my sons Daivd G. Allen, Levi Allen and James Allen my saw mill, my blacksmith tools- with all my land and all my estate both personal and real-not herin particularly disposed of, what nature or mind so ever the personal thereof except the blacksmith tools and saw mill to be sold on a credit of 12 months and my sons- Daniel G. Allen, Levi Allen and James Allen as each may come of age, shall pay over to my son Wm. W. Allen and my daughters Eliza Bishop, Charlotte Ogg, and Sally Ponder, $200.00 each. Sally Ponder has already received $200.00 which pays her part, and also my sons, Daniel G. Allen, Levi Allen and James Allen shall pay to my two grandchildren children of my son David Allen now deceased when they come of age, 1 horse each to be worth $75.00.
I give and bequeath to my daughter- Sally Ponder- a note I hold on her husband, Zadoc Ponder. I do hereby direct that my said sons, Daniel G. Allen, Jas Allen and Levi Allen, let Nathan McDaniel and wife have the farm and place they have in possession for the term of ten years for the improvements they have put upon it. The home place as divided to Nancy Allen and Jason W. Allen includes the grist mill and all the improved lands to the top of the ridge and timber enough to support it as also the lands on the other side of the river adjoining the lands of Robert Allen and running with the top of the river ridge and thence to the river so as to include all the lands in cultivation. I desire that my executors make a title to the lands I sold Job Allen Jrs. And William C. Ogg. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends, George W. Gregory and N.S. McDowell, executors of this my last will and testament herby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 27th day of August in the year of our Lord, Eighteen Hundred and fifty two.
